Ethical Innovate Hub

Human wellbeing at the centre of responsible innovation.

We turn research on social support, psychological wellbeing, digital health and responsible emerging technologies into practical frameworks, tools and applications that help people and organisations create meaningful, sustainable value.

One idea, told plainly, before anything else.

Vision

A world where innovation and transformation, in any form, for any kind of value creation, are measured not by how advanced or ambitious they are, but by how much they protect and strengthen people's health, dignity, and psychological wellbeing.

Mission

We translate rigorous research in ethical innovation and digital health into practical frameworks, tools, and partnerships for value creation, putting people's health and psychological wellbeing at the centre of every change: helping individuals understand their own wellbeing, organisations innovate without losing sight of the people they serve, and researchers turn evidence into real-world social and societal impact.

Why the Hub

One idea, support shapes wellbeing, wellbeing creates value, explored through whichever door fits you: a personal assessment, an organisational partnership, or a research collaboration.

Our signature principle: Dignity by Design

Wherever change happens, in research, technology, programs, leadership, or practice, we ask one question: does it protect people's dignity and wellbeing, or does it treat them as expendable? Every framework, tool, and partnership we build starts from that answer.

Values

Value should come from psychological wellbeing, not instead of it

Some performance frameworks treat psychological wellbeing as a cost to manage rather than a foundation to build on. We start from a different premise: sustained value is downstream of sustained psychological wellbeing, and psychological wellbeing is buildable, through specific, identifiable kinds of support.

Evidence over assumptionEach reflection prompt is linked to the support area highlighted by the framework and should be considered in context.
People before metricsValue creation is the outcome we track, never the starting point of the conversation.
Specific, not genericFour distinct pillars mean four distinct interventions, not one psychological wellbeing program for everyone.

The signature framework

Support → wellbeing → value creation

The Hub's core proposition is simple: the quality of support available to people can shape psychological wellbeing, and stronger wellbeing can create conditions for longer-term value creation.

About this assessment. This tool is built on the Hub's research model to help you reflect on your own support and wellbeing in a structured way. It's an educational, research-informed reflection tool, not a medical, psychological, diagnostic, therapeutic, crisis, or emergency service. Results and reflection prompts are generated from your answers, but they are not an individual clinical assessment and should not be used to diagnose a condition or make treatment or care decisions. Your responses and scores are calculated locally in your browser and are not submitted to the Hub by the assessment itself.

Put the framework into practice

Build your support & wellbeing plan

Explore practical ideas for strengthening social support and psychological wellbeing. Choose what feels useful, see how each idea connects to the framework, and build a small reflection plan for yourself.

Founder, Ethical Innovate Hub
Researcher in Digital Health, Responsible & Secure Emerging Technologies · Digital Innovation

I care about people. Wherever I have influence, in research, in a classroom, on a team, in a friendship, the same rule applies: people's psychological wellbeing and dignity aren't negotiable. I've built my research around it, led by it, and let it guide every professional choice I've made.

20+ years across academia, government & industry 40+ peer-reviewed publications Research & innovation leadership

Research that begins with people

My research sits at the intersection I call "Ethical Digital Health", developing and adopting emerging technology in ways that enhance, not bypass, people's health and psychological wellbeing. I explore how emerging technologies can improve psychological wellbeing and health outcomes, strengthen communities, and create sustainable value for organisations and society. My commitment is also shaped by professional experiences that showed me how deeply ethical leadership, fairness, and organisational culture influence dignity, trust, wellbeing, and long-term value creation.

My guiding principle“The future of technology should be measured not by how advanced it becomes, but by how much it advances humanity.”

Where this shows up

EducationEvery student is treated as someone with potential worth developing, not a number to process.
ResearchAsking not just what a technology can do, but whether it strengthens people's health, wellbeing, and social impact.
LeadershipDefending the people I'm responsible for, even when it would be easier to look away.
Personal lifeThe same standard holds in my own relationships. Dignity isn't something I extend selectively.

A working thesis

An open research question

"My central finding, across this body of research, is that providing the right kind of social support leads to better psychological wellbeing, and that enhanced psychological wellbeing, in turn, creates lasting value: social and societal impact, resilience, academic excellence, quality of life, and better health outcomes."

I'm interested to learn: what underlying strategies and principles have other innovators, healthcare professionals, and researchers applied to turn psychological wellbeing into value?

Privacy & responsible use

Designed to minimise unnecessary data collection

What this platform collects

The private check-in, assessment and interactive support & wellbeing plan run mainly in your browser. They do not submit what you type into the check-in, your assessment answers, calculated scores, plan selections, or personal plan notes to Ethical Innovate Hub or to any third party.

One exception: after you confirm a feeling and choose a type of support in the check-in, the platform may send only those two category choices, never your typed words, to a secure automated language service (via our own server-side function) to phrase the matching reflection ideas more naturally. If that request fails or is slow, the pre-written version is shown instead; nothing about you personally is included in that request.

Crisis-related, grief, breakup, and financial-support responses are never generated automatically. They are fixed, pre-written text chosen by local logic in your browser, and are never sent to any external service.

If you choose to use the consultation, community, or open-question forms, the information you enter is securely processed through our platform infrastructure so the Hub can respond to your enquiry or provide the updates you requested.

  • Consultation: name, email, context and the message you choose to provide.
  • Community: the email address you voluntarily provide for updates.
  • Open Question: your response, selected role/context and, if supplied, your email address.

How information is handled

Information submitted through forms is used for the purpose for which you supplied it: responding to an enquiry, considering a research or professional perspective, or providing requested Hub updates.

  • Do not submit medical records, diagnoses, passwords, payment details or other highly sensitive information through general platform forms.
  • Access to form submissions should be limited to people who need it for Hub administration or response.
  • Information should be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose, subject to any applicable legal or record-keeping obligations.
  • You may contact info@ethicalinnovatehub.com.au to ask about personal information you submitted, or to request correction or deletion where appropriate.

Assessment disclaimer

The support and psychological wellbeing profile is an educational and reflective tool. It is not a medical, psychological, diagnostic, therapeutic, crisis, or emergency service and is not a substitute for qualified professional advice.

Scores and reflection prompts are generated from your answers in light of the research referenced above, but they are not an individual clinical assessment and cannot account for your full personal circumstances. They should not be used to diagnose a condition, determine treatment, or make decisions about care. Individual circumstances differ; if a prompt does not feel appropriate or helpful, do not follow it. Where you have concerns about your mental or physical health, seek advice from an appropriately qualified professional.

The tool is intended to support reflection and human agency, not replace professional or individual judgement. Research citations are provided in the framework section so visitors can review the evidence underpinning the model.

Third-party services & security

This platform uses secure hosting and form-processing infrastructure. It also loads web fonts from Google Fonts, and, for the optional phrasing step described above, sends a category label (never your own words) to a secure third-party language-processing service through our own server-side function, so our service credentials are never exposed to visitors' browsers.

Under that service's standard commercial terms, this data is not used to train AI models and is automatically deleted from that service's systems within 30 days, except where content is flagged for abuse review (retained up to 2 years) or required by law. See our processor's data retention policy for current details, as these terms may change.

These services may process limited technical information needed to deliver and protect the platform in accordance with their applicable terms and privacy practices. The platform uses HTTPS and browser security protections. No online platform can guarantee absolute security, so visitors should avoid sending information that is not necessary for their enquiry.
